(Abu Dhabi) – President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conferred the ‘Sheikh Zayed Order’ on H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, in recognition of her national and social role.
The honour conferred on Sheikha Fatima is also in appreciation of her stand by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as she devoted her life to serving the country.
Sheikha Fatima has also been instrumental in empowering the Emirati women and in enriching humanitarian works around the world. She has launched national initiatives, and made cultural, social and educational contributions which have paved the way for remarkable progress in different areas, particularly with regard to motherhood and childhood issues.
