(Ras Al Khaimah) – The Ministry of Interior has handed over citizenship documents to 78 candidates in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, who are born to Emirati mothers. The recipients include 20 residents in Dubai, 22 in Sharjah and 14 in Ajman. Lt-General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalisation and Residency at the Interior Ministry, handed citizenship documents to 22 candidates in Ras Al Khaimah.
The move is in line with the decision of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to grant sons and daughters of Emirati mothers citizenship and the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan to speed up implementation of the President’s decision. Lt-Gen Al Menhali said the 22 citizens represent the first batch of the 930 beneficiaries across the country who met the requirements and reached the age of 18 years or above.
