(Abu Dhabi) – President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Her Majesty Queen Beatrix Wilhelmina Armgard of the Netherlands at the Mushrif Palace.
The meeting was also attended by UAE’s Speaker of the Federal National Council H.E Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, group of ministers, top officials from UAE and members of delegation accompanying HM including HRH Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange, his spouse Princess Maxima of the Netherlands and Dutch Foreign Minister Uriel Rosenthal.
During the talks, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa expressed hope that the state visit by Her Majesty to the UAE would deliver a new qualitative leap in the distinguished bilateral relations, energize the joint economic and investment partnership and usher it into new sectors. H.H added that the UAE is sincerely interested in drawing lessons from the Dutch successful development experiment.
Queen Beatrix also lauded the ever-growing bonds between the leaderships and peoples of the two friendly countries and said that she is delighted at visiting the UAE and also impressed with the progress the UAE is making in all walks of life. Her Majesty added that her visit to the UAE would spur her country to explore greater opportunities for joint cooperation and partnership.
Both the leaders exchanged views on topics of mutual concern, latest regional and international developments and exchanged honors.
President Khalifa also hosted a luncheon in honor of the visiting Queen of Netherlands.
