Sharjah Ramadan Majlis 2025: Shaping the Future and Empowering Growth
Sharjah’s thriving business, trade, and economic landscape took centre stage at the prestigious Sharjah Ramadan Majlis 2025, held in Mleiha under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi. Organised by Shurooq, Invest in Sharjah, Sheraa, and SRTIP, the event was themed “Sharjah: Shaping the Future, Empowering Growth.”
In her opening remarks, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi highlighted the Majlis’ role in fostering collaboration among government entities and stakeholders within Sharjah’s economic ecosystem. She said: “Sharjah’s future depends on our ability to thoughtfully integrate innovation with sustainability, ensuring our heritage informs our progress, rather than limits it. The Ramadan Majlis symbolises this commitment, serving as a dynamic space for dialogue where we collectively explore pathways to inclusive growth. Each partnership formed and each idea shared moves us closer to a future that honours our values, supports entrepreneurs, and creates lasting economic resilience for generations to come.”
The event welcomed high-profile attendees, including UAE Minister for Foreign Trade, H.E Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, along with senior government officials and business leaders. Discussions revolved around Sharjah’s evolving economic landscape, with a key focus on innovation, sustainability, and industrial expansion. Dr. Al Zeyoudi emphasised the impact of the UAE’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA) in expanding global markets for Sharjah’s manufacturers, solidifying its status as an industrial powerhouse — already accounting for 35% of the UAE’s total industrial output.
H.E Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, shed light on the emirate’s pro-business initiatives and its competitive edge in attracting industrial investments. He remarked: “Sharjah’s manufacturing journey began in the 1970s and has grown into a thriving ecosystem, with manufacturing now the second-largest contributor to our GDP.”
H.E Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, outlined the park’s role in bridging research institutions and the private sector to drive industrial innovation. He said: “SRTI Park is a platform where collaboration is the foundation of progress. Partnership sits at the core of our mission as we bridge institutions and companies by aligning R&D, skills, resources, and vision to empower industrial innovation.”
A key highlight of the Majlis was the signing of three major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at boosting entrepreneurship and innovation. These agreements reinforced strategic partnerships between Invest in Sharjah, SRTI Park, Sheraa, Emarat, and Alef Group.
The event reaffirmed Sharjah’s vision of merging innovation with heritage, solidifying its position as a regional and global economic leader.
