Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Inaugurates GITEX GLOBAL

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Opens GITEX GLOBAL 2023, the World’s Largest Tech Show in Dubai

Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, officially inaugurated GITEX GLOBAL 2023, the world’s largest technology exhibition, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). Accompanying His Highness was H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy of Dubai.

In his address, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid emphasized the event’s global significance, highlighting its role as a premier gathering for technology industry professionals worldwide. He commended the UAE’s four-decade-long tradition of bringing together innovators and thought leaders from around the globe, fostering partnerships and insights that have greatly advanced technology and improved human life.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted the UAE’s proactive leadership in various sectors of the economy. GITEX GLOBAL 2023 hosted over 6,000 exhibitors from 180 nations, fostering discussions about the future of the technology industry. The event’s growth underscored Dubai’s growing reputation as a hub for the technology industry. Dubai and the UAE remain committed to progress, innovation, and international collaboration in the ever-evolving technology landscape.

The 43rd edition of GITEX GLOBAL, running from October 16 to October 20, 2023, reached full capacity at DWTC, with 6,000 exhibitors and 180,000 tech executives from 180 countries. The event coincided with Expand North Star, the world’s largest start-up event hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.

During his visit, His Highness toured various stands, engaging with leading technology companies such as Etisalat, Huawei, Beyon, Salesforce, Microsoft, and IBM.

Accompanying His Highness during the tour were Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism; along with several ministers and senior officials.

GITEX GLOBAL and Expand North Star occupied a combined area of 2.7 million sq. ft, a 40% increase from the previous year, showcasing the latest innovations in AI, the cloud, Web 3.0, cybersecurity, climate technology, and urbanism, among others.

The event featured AI Everything, the year’s largest showcase of AI solutions with 1,000 AI-infused companies, along with the Global DevSlam coder and developer meet-up. GITEX Cyber Valley, the largest cybersecurity event of the year, brought experts together to address digital asset and infrastructure protection in the age of AI.

The event also marked the debut of GITEX CTO World Congress, gathering tech architects and disruptors, and co-located GITEX Impact and Future Urbanism Expo shows, addressing climate change and sustainable development.

GITEX GLOBAL 2023 welcomed major tech players such as Dell Technologies, e&, Google, Huawei, HP, IBM, Microsoft, and Tonomus, alongside newcomers including Salesforce, Broadcom, Beyon, and Deloitte.
