UAE Participates in BRICS Ministerial Meeting on Women’s Affairs in Russia
The UAE, represented by its Gender Balance Council, participated in the BRICS Ministerial Meeting on Women’s Affairs in St. Petersburg, Russia. Led by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, the UAE delegation highlighted the nation’s progress in women’s leadership and gender equality.
H.H. Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to gender equality, aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 5. The meeting focused on international cooperation to enhance women’s empowerment and leadership, with the UAE sharing its achievements in legal reforms and leadership representation.
Mona Al Marri emphasized the importance of global partnerships to accelerate gender equality, noting the UAE’s strides in female leadership, including 50% female representation in the Federal National Council.
