On April 18, 2022, the UAE Cabinet, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, approved the executive regulations for the Federal Decree-Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners. These regulations aim to enhance the UAE’s attractiveness for living, working, and investing.
The regulations offer detailed guidance on entry visas and residence permits, with the goal of attracting global talent and skilled workers, increasing job market competitiveness, and ensuring stability for residents and their families.

- Expanded eligibility criteria.
- 10-year residency for investors, entrepreneurs, talents, scientists, students, and more.
- Family sponsorship without age restrictions.
- No limits on staying outside the UAE.
- Golden Residence for Scientists:
- Granted to accomplished scientists with relevant degrees and research achievements.
- Golden Residence for Professionals:
- Open to highly skilled workers across various fields.
- Requires a valid UAE employment contract, specific education level, and minimum salary.
- Golden Residence for Exceptional Talents:
- Based solely on talent, regardless of qualifications, salary, or employment status.
- Requires government entity recommendation.
- Golden Residence for Real Estate Investors:
- Available when purchasing properties worth AED2 million or more.
- Golden Residence for Entrepreneurs:
- Flexible criteria for SME entrepreneurs.
- Startup approval from official entities is sufficient.
- Golden Visa for Outstanding Students and Graduates:
