
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has honored Tiago Castigo with the prestigious First Class Medal of Independence, marking the conclusion of his tenure as the Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to the UAE. The medal presentation took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ headquarters in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, conveyed the medal to Ambassador Castigo.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Shakhboot underscored the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its relations with the Republic of Mozambique across various sectors. He also expressed deep appreciation for Ambassador Castigo’s pivotal role in bolstering bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations throughout his tenure, extending his best wishes for the diplomat’s future endeavors.
In response, Ambassador Castigo conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for bestowing the medal, and he commended the remarkable progress achieved in the ties between the UAE and Mozambique. He also expressed his appreciation to the various government entities in the United Arab Emirates for their collaborative efforts, which significantly contributed to the success of his diplomatic mission in the country.
