Sharjah Investment Forum 2024: Shaping the Future of Smart Economies
The 7th edition of the Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2024) concluded successfully after two days of high-level discussions on “A Futuristic Vision for Smart Economies.” Inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the event was organized by the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah) and attracted over 5,000 participants, including leading government officials, investors, and industry leaders.
Among the speakers were His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy; His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq; and His Excellency Mohammed Juma Al Musharrakh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah. In his remarks, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri emphasized the UAE’s recent reforms to attract foreign investment, such as allowing 100% foreign ownership, updates to visa systems, and new family business laws. “These initiatives will significantly boost Sharjah’s appeal as a global investment destination, enabling businesses to innovate and expand across the region and beyond,” he stated.
The forum featured over 100 sessions on key topics like artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and global investment trends. A major highlight was the launch of the world’s first AI-powered trade license service, allowing entrepreneurs to complete licensing in under five minutes, transforming the business landscape in Sharjah.
Additionally, the Investors’ Lounge offered exclusive networking opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships. SIF 2024 reinforced Sharjah’s role as a leader in foreign direct investment, driving economic growth and innovation in the MENA region.
