The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 41, delighted fans by unveiling their annual Christmas card on Saturday. The charming black-and-white portrait, captured by photographer Josh Shinner earlier this year in Windsor, showcases the couple with their three children: 10-year-old Prince George, 8-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 5-year-old Prince Louis.
Departing from their usual outdoor, full-color photos, this studio-style picture reflects the family’s relocation from London to Windsor last year. In a coordinated ensemble, the family dons button-down collared shirts, with Kate and Charlotte opting for jeans, while William, George, and Louis sport dark slacks (Louis even in shorts!). The siblings, Charlotte and Louis, sport matching canvas sneakers. The photograph features William and Kate with their arms around their sons, and Charlotte in the spotlight, seated in a chair.
This year held particular significance for the royal couple as they solidified their roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales. William’s importance in the line of succession was underscored during King Charles’ coronation, where he knelt before his father in homage. Prince George also made history as the first future monarch to play a formal role in a coronation service, serving as a Page of Honor for his grandfather on May 6 at Westminster Abbey. The day concluded with William, Kate, and their three children appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to support the newly-crowned King.
