King Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Mary will embark on their first foreign state tour in May, visiting Sweden and Norway. The trip was planned before Queen Margrethe II’s surprise abdication announcement. The royal couple will meet with Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia in Stockholm and later visit Norway to meet King Harald V and Queen Sonja. In June and July, they will sail to the Faeroe Islands and Greenland, both part of the Danish realm, with specific dates yet to be disclosed.
