Abdullah bin Zayed Sparks Collaborations: 5 MoUs Signed

In a historic gathering on November 23, 2023, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the 11th session of the UAE-Bahrain Joint Higher Committee. Reflecting on the deep-rooted historical relations between the two nations, he emphasized the enduring legacy established by late leaders Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Welcoming Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, Sheikh Abdullah praised the ongoing collaborative efforts of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Highlighting Bahrain as a strategic partner, Sheikh Abdullah underscored the remarkable growth in non-oil bilateral trade, reaching $7 billion in 2022. He expressed eagerness to strengthen ties across various sectors, including trade, investment, education, culture, renewable energy, financial technology, tourism, and health.

The commitment extended to participation in the Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development, launched by the UAE last year with Bahrain, Jordan, and Egypt. Emphasizing the need to elevate cooperation at international forums, Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Alzayani signed the 11th session’s minutes.

The distinguished attendees included Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, along with officials from both nations.

The session concluded with the signing of five impactful Memoranda of Understanding:

  1. FAHR and Bahraini Civil Service Bureau
  2. Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs of Bahrain
  3. Ministry of Education and Nasser Vocational Training Centre in Bahrain
  4. United Arab Emirates University and University of Bahrain
  5. Dubai Future Foundation and Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain

This collaborative milestone reaffirms the commitment to advancing mutual interests and fostering a prosperous future for both nations.
