Sports Diplomacy: Wings XI Win UBL Cup 2013

(Abu Dhabi) – The final of UBL T-20 was held in Abu Dhabi cricket stadium; played between Nissan Al Masaood and Wings XI. Wings XI batted first and made an impressive total of 155 for nine wickets. Although Nissan Al Masaood did put some pressure on Wings XI by some good balling and were also able to get some wickets, but their fielding was somewhat less impressive. In the end the better team won.
The President of Abu Dhabi Cricket Council, Mr. Wajahat Hussain was the chief guest at the United Bank Limited (UBL) Cup final. The match was followed by a prize distribution ceremony in which Mr. Wajahat Hussain, President ADCC was joined Mr. David East, CEO of Emirates Cricket Board, Mr. Asad Burney, General manager of UBL and Inam-ul-Haq, General Secretary of the Council.
The UBL Cup has become one of the most popular cricket T-20 series in UAE which aims to promote cricket within the country through bringing leading corporate companies into the game.
