UAE Pledges US$200,000 to UNHCR’s 2013 Budget

(Geneva) – UAE has pledged USUS$ 200,000 to the UN refugees agency’s 2013 budget, H.E. Obaid Salem Al Za’abi, UAE Permanent Representative to United Nations and Other International Organisations in Geneva announced.
Al Za’abi announced the UAE’s commitment while addressing the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) contributions conference, which the UN holds every year to received voluntary contributions from governments, inter-governmental institutions, individuals, foundations and corporations to direct funds where they are most needed to provide protection, shelter, water, health, education and other essentials to the millions of people of concern to UNHCR. The 2013 global appeal targets 36 million people in 126 countries.
