
(Berlin) – His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, arrived on an official visit to the German capital, Berlin. During the one-day visit, Gen Sheikh Mohammed met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and discussed strategic relations between the two countries and various international and regional developments. He also met a number of senior German officials, and discussed avenues for promoting friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
The meetings were also attended by Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two sides discussed the outstanding relations of cooperation and friendship between the UAE and Germany and ways of enhancing them.
During his visit, General Sheikh Mohammed also met German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Governing Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit. He expressed his delight at visiting the ancient city of arts, history, landmarks and diverse industrial innovations.
In the guest book of the City of Berlin, Gen Sheikh Mohammed wrote: “We are glad to be in Berlin, this ancient city which has become the symbol of the unity of Germany and the will of its people. We wish all progress and prosperity for them.
Earlier, General Sheikh Mohammed hailed the relations between the UAE and Germany as a model for bilateral relations founded on mutual understanding, respect and common interests since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries back in 1972.
