
(Abu Dhabi) – President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan held discussions with the visiting Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow at Al Diyafa Palace in Al Mushrif. His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was present at the meeting.
Sheikh Khalifa welcomed the Turkmen President’s visit and that of his accompanying delegation, expressing the hope that the visit would contribute to further bolstering friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries, in addition to opening up wider horizons of mutual collaboration in various fields. The discussions also dealt with a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. The two parties emphasised the importance of regional and international cooperation in order to boost security and peace in the region.
Sheikh Khalifa expressed the U.A.E’s pride at the continuous development of joint relations. For his part, the Turkmen President congratulated Sheikh Khalifa on the UAE’s 42nd National Day celebrations and Dubai’s success in being selected as the host city for EXPO 2020.
Berdimuhamedow expressed his pleasure at visiting the U.A.E. and meeting with Sheikh Khalifa, referring to his country’s respect, appreciation and gratitude for its relations with the U.A.E.
