PM receives Al Azhar’s Grand Imam

(Dubai) – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai received Ahmed Al Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Egypt’s Al Azhar and President of Al Azhar University. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between UAE and Egypt, in the area of Islamic affairs of mutual interest in particular.
The two sides stressed on the importance of moderation, tolerance between Muslims, and between Muslims and non-Muslims, promotion of the culture of straight behaviour in line with Prophet Mohammad’s tradition in which he said that he was sent as a messenger by Allah to achieve the culmination of high moral standards.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid congratulated Al Tayeb on being named the Islamic Personality of the Year by the 18th session of the Dubai Holy Quran Award.
