National energy efficiency plan highlighted

(Manama) – Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Caspian Renewable Energy Company Chairman Dr. Rob Sobhani and reviewed the company’s latest developments in renewable energy projects.

Dr. Sobhani was briefed on the national plan to raise energy efficiency and the national plan for renewable energy, which looks at developing a national goal to for six percent of Bahrain’s energy use to be renewable by 2025.

The minister said Bahrain’s Sustainable Energy Unit and the Office of the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs would provide all co-operation to the company in its bid to increase participation and investment in solar energy projects in the country.

Dr. Sobhani thanked the minister and other officials for their welcome, hospitality and the cooperation.
