Javed Malik Meets US Ambassador Richard Olson

(Islamabad) – The Publisher & Editor in Chief of International Diplomat Magazine, UAE and Former Ambassador Javed Malik met with the new US Ambassador to Pakistan, Richard G. Olson. During the meeting both sides exchanged views on a variety of subjects including US relations with Pakistan & The Muslim World.
Ambassador Javed Malik, congratulated the new US Ambassador, Richard Olson on his appointment as the top US diplomat in Pakistan and expressed the confidence that being a seasoned diplomat Ambassador Olson would play a significant role in expanding the goodwill and friendship between the people and governments of Pakistan and the United States and will also initiate special efforts to overcome the trust deficit that has occasionally crops up between the two allies.
Javed Malik emphasized that a positive and progressive relationship between Pakistan and the United States is vital and hoped that the scope of relations will be enhanced beyond security cooperation to a much wider strategic partnership that focuses on trade, commerce, Economic cooperation and cultural exchanges. The United States can also play a major role in assisting Pakistan in un-locking its true economic potential by creating opportunities for our private sector to cooperate through business to business relations, an increased market access of Pakistani goods to US markets and reduction of tariffs in order to pave the way for an increase in our bilateral trade.
During their meeting Javed Malik, who is the publisher & editor in Chief of The Diplomat Magazine (International) apprised the US Ambassador on the magazine whereas Ambassador Olson congratulated him on completing a successful year of publication.
