(Amman) – The UAE participated in the sessions the Gulf- Jordanian Economic Forum, which kicked off in the Jordanian capital, Amman, under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.
The event is jointly organised by the GCC Chambers of of Commerce and Industry and Jordan’s Chamber of Commerce.
The UAE delegation to the forum was headed by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Deputy Chairman of the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Al Owais presented a paper on “Horizons of Economic and Trade Relations between the Gulf and Jordan.. Opportunities and Challenges.” The paper tackled a number of agreements signed between the UAE and Jordan, citing the setting up of the UAE- Jordanian Business Council. He noted that the trade exchange between the UAE and Jordan touches AED3billion annually, but the figure does not reflect the relations between the two countries in all fields.
The paper focussed on the development of economic and trade relations between the UAE and Jordan.
