(Manama) – Gulf Child Day was celebrated under the patronage of Health Undersecretary Aisha Bu-Unq.
Almoayyed Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Centre held the celebration under the slogan (Seeking a brighter future for children of kidney failure).
The Health Undersecretary, in her speech, said it’s a good opportunity to highlight the children category, who form a large percentage of Bahrain’s society. Adding this year’s slogan underlines the significance of health and preventive side for this category of the society. It also aims to encourage them to adopt healthy behaviors to assist health authority to play its role in creating a healthy generation capable of participating in the development of the community economically and socially.
She attached great importance to strengthening cooperation among relevant authorities to control the chronic kidney disease and kidney failure, which are constantly increasing and affecting adults and children alike.
She pointed out the Health Ministry’s keenness, through the event, on enhancing community partnership and disseminating awareness of causes, prevention and early detection of kidney diseases.
