(Dubai) – In another achievement accomplished in their debut season, BAHRAIN MERIDA Cycling Team has recorded another podium finish, when their sprinter Sonny Colbrelli took third in Dubai Tour’s third stage which witnessed a strong competition from a pool of elite cyclists.

Triumphing in Dubai Tour’s third stage was John Degenkolb of Trek-Segafredo, who took a close win over ReinardtJanse van Rensburg (Dimension Data).
Race leader, Marcel Kittel of Quick-Step Floors, who was allegedly hit by another rider during the stage, was blocked in and finished outside of the top ten, though he maintained his lead in the general classification, with Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo) in third, while Degenkolb moving up to third.
Commenting on BAHRAIN MERIDA’s new accomplishment, Sports Director of the team, Alberto Volpi expressed extreme satisfaction after the race and explained: “The Stage was complicated due to very strong winds. I am happy with the team work in the first part. Colbrelli had great support from his team-mates in the final of this complicated stage. I am happy with the team effort and the final result.” Meanwhile, third place winner Sonny said after the race: “I am very very happy. The team was very strong today and this is a very important race. I am ready for tomorrow’s new Stage.”
