
(Manama) – Bahrain is hosting the preparatory 8th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Contest for Middle East countries.
The contest has attracted the participation of 120 students from 15 higher educational institutions in 10 countries in addition to 60 arbitrators, academicians. The preparatory event precedes the final competitions of Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Austria and Hong Kong in March.
Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and President of the Higher Education Council, inaugurated the competition activities.
The minister reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s interest in attracting similar international events that will enrich the educational process through the exchange of outstanding expertise and experiences and imbue students with practical skills to bolster their theoretical knowledge in their respective specializations in harmony with the efforts exerted by the Higher Education Council through the Strategy for Development of Higher Education and Scientific Research and to develop the output of this important educational sector.
