
(New York) – The 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly held a high-level thematic conversation on children and youth affected by violent extremism.
Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei chaired the second panel discussions addressing the versatile nature of threats of violent extremism to children and youth, as well as examining ways to strengthen prevention efforts and reinforce existing strategies to counter violent extremism with a specific focus on children and youth.
It further addressed the drivers that spark radicalization and violent terrorism, and exchange of experience in the field of rehabilitation and social reintegration of children and youth who involved in violent terrorism acts.
The United Nations General Assembly held a high-level thematic conversation to discuss the impact of violent extremism on Children and youth who are often the most vulnerable victims of the scourge of radicalization and violence.
The challenges and threats that are facing children and youth necessitate double efforts from the UN organizations and international community to best tackle the challenges of violent terrorism.
