
(Brussels) – Assistant Foreign Minister Abdulla bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri, met with a number of officials of foreign affairs at the European Union, on the sidelines of the ministerial conference on Afghanistan being held in Brussels on October 4 and 5.
He met with Dr Nicholas Westcott, Managing Director, Middle East and North Africa, European External Action Service, Stavros Lambrinidis, the European Union’s Special Representative for Human Rights at the European External Action Service, and Perez Garcia, Head of the Human Rights Section.
Al Doseri reviewed with them ways to enhance cooperation in the exchange of experiences and on regional and international issues of common concern, pointing to the achievement of the Kingdom of Bahrain for concrete achievements in terms of promotion and protection of human rights under the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He stressed the keenness of the Kingdom, within the framework of cooperation between the legislative and executive branches, to strengthen the independence of the judiciary, human rights and the strengthening of independent regulatory institutions, so as to contribute to the upgrading of the status of human rights and political, civil, cultural and social freedoms in accordance with international human rights standards.
