(Riyadh) – The third Arab Economic and Social Development Summit has commenced at Riyadh, aimed at boosting economic integration and development in the Arab countries. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is leading the UAE delegation which included a number of Sheikhs, ministers and key officials.
The participating countries in the two-day summit in addition to Saudi Arabia are UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Palestine, Yemen, Libya, Mauritania, Somalia, Djibouti, and Comoros Islands. According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Their Majesties, Highnesses and leaders of the Arab countries participating in the summit held at King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh will give top priority in achieving the welfare of the Arab citizens within the framework of the joint cooperation among the Arab countries in the development, economic and social fields.
The Arab leaders will also discuss a host of pressing issues concerning with the development and investment in the Arab region in particular, and ways to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in addition to the adoption of new model of development in the Arab countries. They also seek to create economic bloc which supports their economies and boosts its role as a consistent regional and international group.
