UAE Energy Minister advocates for clean energy

UAE Energy Minister Suhail Mohamed Al-Mazrouei emphasized the global need to prioritize the reduction of coal usage during discussions at the COP28 climate summit on Thursday, as reported by Reuters.

Al-Mazrouei challenged the notion of an immediate fossil fuel phase-out, pointing out advancements in technology that could potentially eliminate CO2 emissions from fossil fuels in the future. He questioned the necessity of opposing such advancements before viable alternatives are available, envisioning a scenario where fossil fuels could be as clean as any other fuel with the aid of emerging technologies.
