UAE & MALAYSIA Agree to expand economic ties

The UAE Ministry of Investment and Malaysia’s Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry have signed an MoU to enhance cooperation in the digital infrastructure sector, with a focus on data centers in Malaysia. Malaysia’s strategic location and government initiatives position it as a dynamic data center market. The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between public and private organizations, introduce incentives, and facilitate knowledge exchange. This partnership is expected to elevate Malaysia as a Southeast Asian data hub, contributing to the country’s digital economy growth. The signing reflects the robust trade relations between the UAE and Malaysia, with non-oil trade volume surpassing USD 2.22 billion in the first half of 2023.
