Hosni Mubarak dies at 91

(Cairo) – Hosni Mubarak’s family confirmed that the former long-time president of Egypt had died aged 91 in Cairo’s Galaa military hospital.

His son, Alaa Mubarak, confirmed on Twitter that “this morning my father, president Mubarak, passed away”.

“We belong to God and to Him we shall return. … Oh God, forgive him and forgive him and have mercy on him,” he wrote.

Mubarak’s brother-in-law, General Mounir Thabet, told AFP that the family was at the hospital and that the presidential office would organise the funeral.
