First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Emirates Foundation have formed a comprehensive, multi-year partnership to promote climate change awareness and sustainability actions in the UAE. The agreement was witnessed by key figures, including H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The initiative, unveiled at COP28, encompasses engaging communities, hosting national-level climate events, conducting carbon footprint check-ups, implementing climate-focused school programs, and establishing a national platform for climate-conscious communities. The partnership aims to deepen public understanding of sustainability issues on local, national, and global levels. FAB’s Futoon Al Mazrouei emphasized the importance of individual and local contributions, while Ahmed Al Shamsi, CEO of Emirates Foundation, highlighted the mission to empower the UAE community for positive environmental change. The Carbon Literacy Programme is the first initiative, targeting diverse segments, with plans to reach 100 schools by 2024. As a strategic partner of COP28, FAB showcased its commitment to sustainability through various initiatives, including increased sustainable funding targets and climate-focused programs.
