Dubai Chamber boosts businesses in cyber security

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, a key entity under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, recently hosted a virtual workshop on cybersecurity in collaboration with Mastercard. The workshop, titled ‘Building Cyber Resilience in a Complex and Interconnected Digital World,’ drew participation from 50 companies in Dubai. Focused on proactive cyber resilience strategies, the event marked the second in a series initiated in July 2023, part of a year-long program aimed at enhancing companies’ cybersecurity capabilities.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the need for continuous adaptation to the evolving digital landscape, citing the escalating pace and sophistication of cyber threats. The workshop aimed to equip participants with crucial information, insights, and practical guidance in the digital realm, aligning with Dubai Chamber’s commitment to supporting the local business community.

The initiative introduced by Dubai Chamber and Mastercard seeks to evaluate and enhance cybersecurity capabilities over the course of a year. The recent workshop covered key aspects of cybersecurity, including the identification of cyberattack sources, risk assessment for technological programs, and the latest tools to mitigate cybersecurity risks.

In another development, the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) projected a steady increase in Brazil’s poultry exports in 2024, anticipating a 3.7% growth in the country’s overall poultry production to reach 15.3 million tonnes. The ABPA reported a 6.8% increase in total poultry exports to 4.6 million tonnes in the previous year, with China emerging as the top importer of Brazilian poultry. Brazil’s strong poultry exports to Arab nations, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, are expected to continue, with several new markets being added in 2024.

Osmar Chohfi, President of ABCC, highlighted the positive trade relationship between Brazil and the Arab world, emphasizing the mutual benefits and collaboration that have resulted in a dynamic partnership. The continued growth in the poultry sector underscores the robust alliance between Brazil and the Arab world, reflecting a significant step toward fostering economic growth and mutual success in the global marketplace.
