H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, received a comprehensive briefing on the potential for trade and investment collaboration between the UAE and the United Kingdom. The discussion explored avenues to strengthen ties across various promising economic sectors by fostering economic and trade partnerships. Emphasis was placed on establishing new channels that would bolster the existing exchange of trade and investments. These initiatives are part of the strategic relationship between the two friendly nations, aimed at fostering further growth and prosperity.
The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah participated in a segment of the British trade delegation forum, currently visiting the country. The event, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort Spa Marjan Island, was a collaborative effort between the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and the British Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
The forum’s objectives revolved around discussing investment opportunities between the UK and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, focusing on vital fields and sectors that support sustainability, innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. The aim is to enhance the growth of small and medium-sized companies.
Expressing a warm welcome to the British delegation, Sheikh Saud conveyed his wishes for success in bolstering cooperation between the public and private sectors in both countries. He highlighted the significance of such economic visits in fostering fruitful trade and investment partnerships, as well as facilitating knowledge exchange and joint economic endeavors.
The meeting, attended by Oliver Christian, Consul General of the United Kingdom in Dubai, along with officials from the trade mission at the British Embassy and representatives of British companies, provided an opportunity to commend the growing relations with the UK. Sheikh Saud particularly praised the continuous growth in economic and trade domains, attributing it to the presence of substantial investment opportunities that support sustainable growth.
In response, the Consul General of the United Kingdom in Dubai expressed gratitude to the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah for hosting the trade forum. He acknowledged the forum’s role in boosting economic relations and opening up broader horizons for cooperation between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the business sector in the United Kingdom.
