Dubai’s remarkable achievement as the Middle East’s premier Meetings and Conference Destination in 2023, bestowed by the World Travel Awards, was reinforced at IMEX America. Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau, showcased its diverse business events offerings with 18 co-exhibitors. This collaborative effort not only enhanced global awareness but also attracted significant international association conferences and incentives, contributing to Dubai’s economic growth.
Supported by city stakeholders, DBE continues to secure major international events, such as the 2024 Aesthetic Society International Meeting and the 2027 World Congress on Medical Informatics, bolstering Dubai’s position in the business events sector. In the first half of 2023, Dubai’s business event bid wins experienced a remarkable 44% year-on-year growth, with 143 conferences and meetings secured, expected to bring over 94,000 visitors over the coming years.
Dubai’s commitment to becoming a global MICE destination aligns with the vision of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), striving to be one of the world’s top three global cities. As the city advances in various sectors, the business events industry stands as a significant contributor to economic growth and knowledge development. Dubai’s growing prominence in the MICE sector has been further highlighted by its successful bid wins and recognition at IMEX America.
