(Abu Dhabi) – President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa has issued a law setting up the Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture with an objective to preserve, protect and manage the cultural heritage and promote tourism development in the emirate.
The new authority will replace the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage and the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and will also assume the commitments, assets and mandates of these two authorities.
As per the law, General Sheikh Mohammad, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, issued a resolution setting up the authority’s board which will consist of a minimum of five members to be appointed through a resolution issued by the Executive Council.
The resolution appointed Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun as Chairman of the board. The other appointed members are Dr Zaki Anwar Nasiba, Mohammad Khalaf Al Mazroui, Jasem Mohammad Al Darmaki, and Brigadier Omair Mohammad Al Muhairi.
