Ms. Kaneka Subberwal, Founder of Art Select and the managing body of ArtBAB 2017 stated,”While assessing over the years the tremendous potential of our Bahraini artists, conceiving Bahrain’s first international art fair in 2015 was a significant step in creating a platform to showcase the Kingdom’s artistic base. Since then our efforts and success stories have grown through our alignment to Tamkeen’s vision and focus in strengthening the local art sector and boosting Bahraini artist recognition across borders. Our synergy with Tamkeen was pivotal in establishing the Bahrain Art Across Borders (BAAB) initiative which was launched in London earlier this year. The success of BAAB reaffirmed it as an ideal umbrella to unite local art initiatives empowered by Tamkeen, a prime example being the second edition of Bahrain’s international art fair ArtBAB 2017 which aims to showcase our artists to the world and also bring the global art community to Bahrain. Be Bahrain is yet another vertical of BAAB which aims to promote Bahrain’s artistic expression on an international front. On behalf of our entire team at ArtSelectbh we are proud to have conceived and scripted BAAB and look forward to many more milestones in the coming year for the artists of Bahrain.”
