(Nairobi) – The UAE represented by the Ministry of Economy, is participating in the 14th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), which began on 17th July in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and will conclude on 22nd July.
The Ministry of Economy’s delegation is headed by Juma Mohammed Al Kait, Assistant Under-Secretary for Foreign Trade Affairs; Aisha Al Kubaisi, Director of International Organisations Affairs in the Ministry of Economy; Hassan Isa Al Hosani, head of the UAE Mission to Kenya; representatives from federal entities including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA), and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED).
The conference is being held under the theme, “From decision to action: Moving towards an inclusive and equitable global economic environment for trade and development”.
Juma Mohammed Al Kait has stressed the importance of UNCTAD’s role in providing support and advice to the developing countries, particularly in the relationship between trade and development and investment and taxation issues, statistical data and analytical reports prepared by the UNCTAD and the best available international practices in this regard.
