President orders emergency food aid to Libya

(Abu Dhabi) – President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have ordered the sending of emergency food aid to those affected in the city Al Abraq, because of the recent events taking place in Libya. The move aims to extend a helping hand to those affected by the incidents and alleviate their suffering.
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation established an air bridge between the United Arab Emirates and the Libyan city of Al Abraq comprising three cargo planes carrying food and health rations as well as blankets.
The first plane was sent this morning and will be followed by two more planes at a later time.
This generous gesture comes within the framework of UAE support for the Libyan people in these difficult circumstances and out of the brotherly and humanitarian duty in such hard time.
