
(Dubai) – The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual Golden Globe Awards has awarded an Honorary shield to the Dubai International Film Festival. In its latest edition, the Festival presented 174 films from 57 countries, of which 70 films were being shown for the first time. This award is the first to be given to an Arab Film Festival.
H.E. Abdulhamid Juma, Chairman of Dubai International Film Festival, DIFF, received the honorary shield from two members of the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Lisa Lu and Aida Takla-O’Reilly and Association member, Mohammed Rouda, in recognition of the status and role of the Dubai International Film Festival as one of the most important international film festivals.
