
(Abu Dhabi) – UAE Foreign Trade Minister, H.H. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi said the bolstering of UAE economic and trade interests within the framework of its membership in the World Trade Organisation (WTO) is an absolute priority. She added that the ministry will not spare any effort to mobilise all its capacities to preserve the UAE’s trade interests in the WTO through boosting the capacities of corporations and business sectors.
The UAE minister said during the first meeting of national committee for WTO that despite the fact that no progress was achieved in Doha, all the competent economic agencies should involve in the talks to ensure the state’s rights in the WTO. Chaired by Sheikha Lubna, the meeting was held at the ministry in the presence of H.E. Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and representatives of public and private sectors.
