Sheikh Sultan & His Turkish Counterpart Discuss Economic Ties

(Abu Dhabi) – H.E. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and his Turkish counterpart, Zafer Caglayan during a meeting at Abu Dhabi, discussed ways to promote economic relations between the two countries. They reviewed the progress in projects and the recommendations of the Joint economic committee meeting last year.
Al Mansouri stressed the depth of cultural bonds between the two countries, which can be beneficial in enhancing and cementing the bilateral stable economic relations. He referred to the volume of the non-oil trade exchange between the two countries, which stood at US$ 3.6 billion in 2011, expressing his hope to increase the investments and trade exchange. He also stressed on the need to directly implement some joint economic initiatives, that will contribute to increase trade and investment between the UAE and Turkey. He also underlined the importance for providing all the support and facilities to Turkish companies in the UAE markets.
For his part, the Turkish minister called on the UAE companies to take advantage of the rich investment opportunities particularly in the energy and transport sector, in which the investments of the Turkish Government will exceed to US $ 250 billion in the next few years.
