Harris Selects Tim Walz as Running Mate
US Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. The announcement elevates Walz, a former teacher, congressman, and Army National Guard veteran, to the Democratic ticket. Harris and Walz will hold their first joint rally in Philadelphia before visiting other battleground states. The selection comes a day after Harris secured the Democratic presidential nomination, making her the first Black woman and first Asian American to lead a major-party ticket.
