(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has lauded the positive aspect of trade union pluralism in the kingdom, praising the resolve, readiness and determination of Bahraini trade unions to cooperate locally and at the international level.
Trade union pluralism is a major gain for workers, he said, lauding the kingdom’s labour stability.
“Our trade unions have set the example in their patriotism through their commendable stances of projecting the bright image of their country abroad before they do that at the local level,” HRH Premier said, reiterating the government’s keenness to support trade unions.
While receiving the Chairman of the Executive Council of the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al-Hurr) Yaqoob Mohamed Yousif at the Gudaibiya Palace, HRH Premier valued highly Al-Hurr’s honourable stances and efforts to highlight the bright image of the labour situation in the kingdom at the local level and at international gatherings.
HRH the Prime Minister thanked and saluted every Bahraini worker who have dedicated themselves in serving the nation and enhancing its progress.
“The government supports every worker for their giving, and sees them as the real asset and true hand that has constructed development monuments that are a source of our pride,” he said.
HRH Prime Minister praised the good image reflected by the existing cooperation and complementarity between trade unions, stressing that they a convey the image of the Bahraini citizens who are keen on the reputation of their country as they tend to highlight its achievements and progress at regional and global gatherings.
The Prime Minister urged more awareness as the focus on the labour situation in stable countries will not stop, urging the relevant labour parties to unify their stances in order to foil the attempts of those seeking to undermine Bahrain’s labour achievements.
HRH Premier affirmed that the government’s efforts in the field of employment and keenness to open up new horizons to accommodate the national workforce under all circumstances consolidate the kingdom’s status in international labour indicators, but aim, primarily, to serve the citizens and provide them with decent job opportunities.
He underlined the government’s support to every effort that contributes to gaining more labour rights, in recognition of the pivotal role the Bahraini workers have played in building their nation and enhancing its progress, being basic engines and arteries of development.
Chairman and members of Al-Hurr Executive Council extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his unwavering support to all efforts that boost labour rights and ensure a perfect labour environment for Bahraini workers.
They emphasised their constant keenness to highlight the civilisational image of the trade union work in Bahrain, and to highlight the efforts exerted by the government to bring about more gains for Bahraini workers.
