BCCI approves budget, new organisational structure

(Manama) – The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held its 20th meeting, under the chairmanship of Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Moayyad.
The panel approved its estimated budget for 2017. The budget aimed to meet the needs of the 28th session of BCCI, and consolidate the work of BCCI’s sub-committees, permanent committees and joint committees, as well as those of joint business councils with a number of brotherly and friendly countries for the aim of strengthening the role of Bahrain’s private sector and boosting the national economy.
The panel also accepted the resignation of board member, Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, and praised the efforts he has exerted during his three-year membership. It also invited Khulood Al-Qattan to replace and complete the term of the outgoing member, in line with BCCI’s regulations.
BCCI board also endorsed the organisational structure proposed by BCCI’s CEO.
The new organisational structure aims to enhance BCCI’s performance through turning into a smart chamber that uses digital technology in its work, and reducing the number of directorates.
