
(Manama) – The Kingdom of Bahrain has recently hosted the annual meeting of the World Petroleum Council (WPC) which is the largest gathering concerned with global oil and gas issues. The meeting discussed the WPC’s administrative and financial matters and its activities.
Oil Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, hosted a reception for the participants and gave a welcoming speech in which he emphasized the interest of the Kingdom of Bahrain to host such global gatherings, praising the large presence of numerous delegations from various parts of the world.
The minister also expressed thanks and appreciation to all governmental agencies that have contributed to the success of this gathering especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Economic Development Board.
It is worth mentioning that the World Petroleum Council (WPC) was founded in 1933 and headquartered in London, and is concerned with oil and gas issues and the oil industry worldwide and its membership comprises more than 70 oil consuming and producing countries around the world.
