Dutch royal couple marks 22nd anniversary.

Celebrating 22 years of marriage, Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander wed in Amsterdam in 2002. Each year, the King marks their anniversary with unique gestures, such as fixing a lock with their initials in Curacao. In 2021, he recreated their proposal by a frozen pond. The royal couple, parents to three daughters, are also known for their love of animals, including three Labradors and a poodle. They first met in 1999 during Maxima’s holiday in Seville while she was working in finance in New York.
