UK home asking prices experience their most modest October increase since 2008.

According to property website Rightmove, the UK housing market has seen the slowest October increase in asking prices since 2008, reflecting the impact of rising borrowing costs. The average asking prices for homes rose by only 0.5% between September 10 and October 7, significantly lower than the typical 1.4% increase observed during this period. This slowdown in price growth indicates the influence of higher interest rates on the housing market, as buyers face increased borrowing costs, potentially dampening demand and price hikes. The housing sector continues to respond to changing economic conditions and the evolving landscape of borrowing rates.
