Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), extended a warm welcome to Nipa Nirannoot, Consul General of the Kingdom of Thailand to Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The purpose of this visit was to strengthen collaboration between DEWA and energy and water organizations in Thailand, focusing on shared interests.
Al Tayer expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Thai Consulate in fostering cooperation and exchanging global best practices in clean and renewable energy, sustainability, and water management. During discussions, both parties explored avenues for strategic cooperation, with a particular emphasis on the contributions of Thai entities in essential sectors such as clean and renewable energy, water, and sustainability, which are integral to both the UAE and Thailand.
Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s significant projects and initiatives aligned with the vision of establishing a sustainable energy model supporting economic growth. He underscored Dubai’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality through initiatives like the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, aiming to derive 100% of Dubai’s total power capacity from clean energy sources by 2050. Noteworthy among DEWA’s clean energy initiatives is the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, recognized as the world’s largest single-site solar park.
Consul General Nipa Nirannoot stressed the importance of strengthening trade, investments, and the exchange of experiences and technologies between Thailand and the UAE. She highlighted the broad prospects for cooperation, partnerships, and investment opportunities between Thai companies and DEWA.
