UAE & Malta Launch Executive Program

In a significant development, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Malta have jointly introduced the Malta Executive Leadership Programme, inspired by the successful model of government leadership in the UAE. The announcement came during a crucial visit by a delegation from the Government Experience Exchange Office (GEEO) at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs to Valletta, Malta’s capital. This visit marks a crucial milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the arena of government modernization.

Led by Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, the UAE delegation held a series of meetings with senior officials in the Maltese government. Discussions revolved around a thorough review of past achievements in bilateral cooperation and updates on collaborative efforts spanning various sectors.

The agenda included forward-looking initiatives and projects centered on knowledge exchange, underscoring the commitment of both governments to mutual growth. The UAE delegation, comprising members of the GEEO team, engaged with Dr. Ian Borg, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, and Keith Azzopardi Tanti, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research, and Innovation. Furthermore, they participated in constructive discussions with various officials in the Maltese government and took part in knowledge-sharing sessions at the University of Malta.

Keith Azzopardi Tanti praised the productive collaboration between Malta and the UAE, emphasizing the significance of partnerships in enhancing the capabilities of government employees. He highlighted the role of the Malta Executive Leadership Programme in providing continuous education and professional development, ensuring that government employees possess the tools to contribute effectively to citizen services.

Abdulla Lootah stressed that the launch of the Executive Leadership Programme in Malta reflects the shared commitment to building government capacities and equipping them with future tools through the exchange of experiences and knowledge. This joint initiative aligns with the UAE’s leadership directives to strengthen international partnerships, share successful experiences, and contribute to the evolution of government work for a better future.
