Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, led the UAE delegation at the Third South Summit of the Group of 77 and China in Uganda on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The summit focused on ‘Leaving No One Behind.’ Sheikh Shakhboot expressed gratitude to Cuba’s 2023 G77 and China presidency and congratulated Uganda for hosting. He emphasized the UAE’s commitment to sustainable development goals and highlighted the upcoming Summit of the Future in New York. Sheikh Shakhboot mentioned the UAE’s contributions to COP28 and the launch of the ‘Altera’ Climate Investment Fund, stressing the importance of multilateral action. He underscored the UAE’s role in diplomacy, peace promotion, and gender equality during its UN Security Council membership from 2022-23.
