(Geneva) – Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Dr. Yussef Abdulkarim Bujiri handed in Geneva the WTO Director General Roberto Azevedo Bahrain’s ratification document of an agreement to facilitate trade as per law number 17 of 2016 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Bahrain is the third Arab country and the 93rd internationally, among 164 members of the organisation, to ratify the agreement which will become effective as soon as two third (109) of the organisation’s member states sign it.
The WTO Director General expressed thanks and gratitude to Bahrain for ratifying the agreement, expressing hope the move will serve as a stimulus for other countries to follow Bahrain in fast-tacking enforcement of the agreement and benefiting from it to facilitate trade movement in the world.
Present at the handing protocols at WTO headquarters in Geneva was Commercial Attache at the Permanent Mission to WTO in Geneva Khalid Al Amer.
